These are often used for new constructions and are fitted to replace doors made of upvc. They are usually operated by lifting the levers to throw out all of the multipoint locks before turning the key to close / unlock. They provide a bit more security than traditional lever door handles, as the locking is only done through the inside with the key.

They're not as secure as a cylinder bolt however they are a cost-effective alternative to add security. The only downside is that they do not offer the same level of protection as a cylinder lock and they don't restrict access to the home if the door is left open.
