1. iRobot Roomba s9+

The S9+ is the top robot vacuum we've tested cleaning both hard floors and carpeting. It has the most powerful suction power of any robotic vacuum cleaner on the market. It also does an excellent job of removing pet hair. It can also be programmed to make multiple passes or alter the suction level based on the size of the room, which is something we haven't seen on other models. The app allows you to modify the way it operates and also choose the time it starts working to allow you to be present in the room while it moves around.

Smart mapping generates a precise home map to help the S9+ navigate efficiently and create routes. It also self-empties so you don't have to be present to assist. It is also able to recharge itself in mid-clean. In our tests the s9+ was able to maneuver around obstacles like tables and power cables with ease and did not lose its charge or became stuck. It does not have the hazard-avoidance capabilities of newer models, and can become tangled on rug tassels and other obstacles it isn't able to see.

In contrast to most circular robots the s9+ has a flat front and has an unsquared front, which helps it to get into corners more easily than rounded models. It's not as impressive as the s9+, however it's still impressive for a device that can mop and vacuum.

As with other iRobot cleaners, the j7+ detects obstacles that block its path and is able to avoid them. It also features what iRobot calls Cliff Detect technology, which keeps it from taking a tumble down the stairs. It's a fantastic security feature for families.

The j7+'s onboard bin is relatively small, so you will need return it to the dock to empty it often when your home is huge. The j7+ can be stored easily. The all-in-one Clean Base acts as an external charging dock and also an external dustbin, and an internal bin where the j7+ is able to deposit dirt.

It's hard to maintain and navigate, which is a problem. It lacks an app companion and voice control, however it does have an easy-to-use remote. It doesn't notify you when the dust bin is full. You'll have to check it regularly.

The eufy is more efficient than the Bobsweep Bob Pro in many ways, but it's not as efficient as the iRobot Roomba 694 in many others. The iRobot Roomba 694 is much better constructed, has less parts to maintain, and a HEPA-filter and lasts longer on one charge, and provides better cleaning performance for bare floors as well as high-pile and low-pile. It also has a smarter navigation system that can maneuver over obstacles and incorporate more advanced automated features, including boundary strips.

Although the eufy remains an acceptable option, I recommend the iRobot Roomba 900 Series for the majority of users.
