The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a great option if you're on a tight budget and don't require an extra stroller that can be used as car seat carrier. It has a simple one-step foot brake that's flip-flop user-friendly.

It's also a breeze to push and feels sturdy when navigating kerbs or woodland pathways. It's also easy to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a name as the most lightweight buggy for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, due to its super nimble manoeuvrability and fold that fits in aeroplane overhead luggage. The latest version comes with independent suspension on all four wheels made of Hytrel elastomer to 'perfectly navigate all types of surface and terrain'.

The YOYO2 frame base with a curved fabric bassinet as well as a 6+ month color pack combine to form a stylish pushchair that's easy to look at, with a subtle but elegant aesthetic and tasteful branding. The frame's weight is less than a kilogram, and is so light that you can lift it out of the box with one hand.

The hood, for instance is able to snap onto the YOYO2 in a calm way. It is machine washable at 30 degrees which helps avoid the stains that result from smushed rice cakes and carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram starting from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to a stroller from 6 months using the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great choice for parents looking for an adaptable stroller. The Evenflo Xplore can be converted from a stroller into the wagon by turning the handle. Parents can then select which one is the best single buggy fit for their adventure. The wagon can hold two or more children from 6 months to 5 years old, and it has a wide storage basket for everything you need on the go.

The Xplore also has two canopies that rotate from front to back, ensuring ample sun protection for all family members. It also has a footwell, which is not as deep or wide as other wagons, so it may not be ideal for longer excursions or for napping.

The frame on the Xplore is solid and sturdy but it doesn't have the same flex as some of the other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the other models, and it does not lock tightly when folded. It is easy to move however, and fits through narrow doors of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents seeking an affordable, second-hand travel stroller. It scored high in our Strollers & Multiples Test for weight and fold dimensions, meaning it is lightweight and compact when folded and easy to move and store in a trunk for your car. It also comes with a multi-position reclined seat and a cup holder for the parent. Other key features include 360-degree shock absorbing front wheels and two large hanging storage bags.

In our push and turn test it performed better than the majority of other strollers of a similar price we tested, but it's still not the easiest to maneuver on uneven ground or through narrow doorways. The sunshades on it were among the smallest of all strollers we tested. They only cover the top, and do not feature peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger sunshades.

The Delta took us just under 3 minutes to put together using an average manual and all of the components required tools. It is missing certain features we consider essential for double strollers. They include a large basket, reclining seats and adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's latest pushchair, and is advertised as an urban travel system. It is designed to take infants from birth until around 3.5 years old, and can be converted between a carrycot and seat with a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats, and comes with the lightweight Mico 30 infant car seat, stay-in-car base, and a reversible car.

The seat reclines with one hand and the large shopping basket makes it easy for parents to take their child in and out. Despite being narrow, the pushchair handled the everyday bumps with ease and went through doorways without any fuss.

The front wheels can to be locked in a forward direction and can also swivel. This is helpful for navigating through rough terrain. While walking on the stony path, we allowed them to swivel and it did this quite well, though it did appear a little bumpier than others that we tested.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is a household name for their three-wheeled, all-terrain jogging pushchairs, but they also have a wide assortment of strollers with four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most loved model. It is simple to use and folds small enough to fit in a car boot even with the carrycot attached.

It weighs more than other strollers we test, but since it has rubber composite wheels it feels solid and well-constructed. It is able to maneuver effortlessly across all types of terrain and it's easy to move even with two children and shopping bags.

The carrycot and seat both come with hoods with pull-down sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are durable and waterproof, unlike other hoods for prams that can be blown back into toddlers' faces.

It doesn't have a lot of storage space, but it does have an ample basket that is deep enough to hold a changing bag or plenty of groceries. You can also pair it with the Baby Jogger car seat for babies who weigh 20 pounds or less (car seat and adapters are sold separately). The City Tour 2 is a ideal choice for those looking to take a stroller with you on the move.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first rolled onto the scene, it stole the hearts of parents all over the world. It is an aluminium-framed stroller which can be used from the infant's earliest days through. It's got a few distinctive features like the ability to flip the seat from parent to the world, a large UPF 50+ canopy that has an eye shade that flips out and a spacious basket as well as an adjustable handlebar.

The chassis has a built-in suspension system which reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made of tough foam and reduce punctures. Our tester found it smooth to push and was able to manoeuvre it through narrow streets with ease.

It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It also stands and can be carried by trolley for easier transport in the trunk of your car or down the stairs at home. The travel system is also available with the option to add an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors that are included. The brakes are a single hand fold stroller action and are colour coded. They also can be used with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is simple to operate and features a fantastic dual suspension. It folds with one hand and comes with a handy carrying strap. It's also light and sturdy. The seat can be reclined into many positions and is equipped with a double breathable mattress that's suitable from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two big sun visors, which can be either fixed or flipped out. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn’t ideal because it's not as quiet as Velcro, and can cause sleepy babies to wake up.

The Duet is an angled stroller that can be used for twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin-mode, the seats can face each other or can be turned around to face their parents, potentially reducing sibling fights over who sits with dad and mom. It has a huge gear tray, bottle holder snack tray, and an adjustable mat. It also has an automatic frame lock and a superior compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger that's ideal for parents who want to keep active. It's one of the lightest strollers that you can buy for your child. It also comes with excellent safety features, including the 5-point safety harness and wrist safety strap. It also features a twist hand brake that's different from the lever type used on rival models.

The seat is well-padded and has a wide area to sit in, but the depth of the seat is less than other joggers that we've tested (it's approximately 10"). The storage bin is encased with a zipper to keep things secure. It can hold up to 10 pounds which is sufficient for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters to fit most bassinets and car seats for infants, but you can use them starting from the first day with adapters that will fit brands such as BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds down compactly and takes 5-10 minutes to assemble with no tools. The instruction manual is easy to read and contains a variety of languages.
