Door Handle Replacement

Door handles seem like a small detail, but if you dislike the appearance of the handles or are unable to use them and use, you should consider replacing them. With a little patience, you can put in an entirely new handle in a short time.

Removal of the Old Handle

You should be able slide the new latch into its slot without issues once you have removed the old one. Use the new screws to secure the latch to the strike plate or door frame. Make sure that it is correctly positioned in the slot, and aligned with the screw chambers.

Before you install the new handle, make sure to measure your current backset (the distance from the center of the large hole on the front surface of the door to the edge). You should also check that the size of the latch on the new handle matches the measurement of your existing handle.

If you're replacing the latch or handle, or if your old Sash Lock Door Handles cylinder has been damaged, then you'll require a new one. If you're not switching locks the new lock should fit into the recess you have already installed, and also work with your existing keys.
