This Roomba is considered to be one of the top vacuums on the market. It has the strongest AI obstacle-avoidance system of any vacuum we've ever tested. It also has a mopping mechanism with dual rubber brushes that are less likely to get caught than bristle brushes.

It utilizes random navigation (or bumps) instead of the vSLAM. This is more time-consuming, but ensures that each room is kept clean. It also has a remarkable battery life and can be used on hardwood and carpet flooring.

1. Roomba i3+ EV

The i3+ EVO has a sleek matte gray finish on its top, which resembles fabric and reduces fingerprints. Smart mapping technology creates a map of the home using advanced sensors. This allows it to clean up rooms and avoid obstacles. You can also set your cleaning preferences using the iRobot app, which provides suggestions based on your home and seasons (like running it more often during allergy season). The high-efficiency filter of the robot can trap 99 percent of allergens, including dust mites, mold, dog and cat hair and pollen. It also has a cliffand edge-sweeping sensors, four brushes (including one side brush two multi-surface long brushes and two multi-surface long brushes) and an edge-to-edge tracker to keep it on its intended path.

In our tests, the i3+ EVO was able to clean our floors quickly and efficiently. It easily transitioned from carpet to rugs and back again and didn't have any issues crossing the metal or wooden trim that separates different types of flooring. It did however bump into a few items like shoes, bags, and handbags as well as pet toys, but was able to maneuver around them. It missed some dirt spots on the carpet, however it did take hair from pet hair elsewhere.

The i3+ EVO is a great choice for homes with carpeting but falls short when it comes to picking up crumbs and other debris. It is unable to vacuum pet hair from carpeting, and may not be the best irobot choice for those looking to replace their traditional vacuum cleaner with robotic. It also lacks the superior obstacles avoidance of the top Roombas such as the j7+ or s9+ which could make it more prone to run into pet waste on floors and spread it out.

2. Roomba J7+

This is among the top robot vacuums designed for those who have carpet, hard carpet and hard. Its most distinctive feature is its obstacle detection, which intelligently avoids cords, furniture legs, and even pet debris. It is also very good at cleaning hard floors and removing long hairs stuck in the brush.

The Roomba J7+ is unlike other robots because it can adjust its suction strength. You can do this through the app, which features scheduling and map editing that works well, as well as a favourites section for the most frequent cleaning tasks. The j7+ is very quiet, particularly when it comes to higher-end flooring options. It is able to keep up with manual vacuuming.

The i7+'s ability to clean rooms is a fascinating experience. It follows a pattern similar to how a lawn care professional trims a field prior to an event. Occasionally it will return to its dock to empty out its trash bin or recharge its batteries. This feature, which enables the vacuum to empty itself, is a wonderful addition and reduces the need for manual maintenance.

It also has a great amount of suction power that can pull dirt and pet hair easily. It can pick up the majority of dirt on carpets with high pile in just one sweep. It can also find areas with high traffic and spend longer in those areas. This is especially useful if you have kids and pets who often bring in large quantities of trash from the outside.

Another great feature is Smart Mapping, which allows the i7+ to understand the layout of your home and create an individual floor map as it vacuums. It took four one-hour sessions to fully map my two-bedroom apartment however, once it had done it was able to navigate the space logically and efficiently. The app lets you modify the map by adding virtual boundaries or giving the rooms names. You can set the i7+ to clean the area around the cat's kitty litter tray every morning or to stay clear of the sofa in the living room once everyone has gone home.

The i7+ comes equipped with a side-brush and a tangle-free spinning squeegee, which are both good for removing debris that could otherwise be thrown on the ground. It also has a battery with Recharge and Resume technology, so it can pick up exactly where it left off in the previous cleaning session, if you let it charge up.

4. Roomba 694

The 694 is a great entry-level robot that will make your home cleaner without the advanced features found in more expensive models. It learns your cleaning habits to recommend schedules, it works with Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistants, allowing you to begin a cleaning session with just a simple command and can be controlled using the iRobot app.

Its dual multi-surface brushes pick dirt and grime from hard floors and carpet and an edge-sweeping brush tackles corners and edges. The battery lasts for 90 minutes, and it docks back to the Home Base when it runs out.

A large Clean/Power button lies in the middle of the top panel, with Home and Spot buttons above and below it. The battery level indicator glows orange when charging, and turns green when the robot is fully charged. The dustbin slides into robot's back and is released by pressing a button.

The Roomba 694 does an excellent job at navigating floors with no carpet and is able to remove large debris such as cereal and rice though it struggles with tiny particles such as baking soda, and can overflow the dirt container as it fills up. It doesn't do as well on low-pile carpet, but it still gets higher scores than other robot vacuums that are priced in this range.

It is great at picking up pet hair, although some strands can get wrapped around the side brush. The poor performance of the 694 on cat litter is also a cause for concern, despite the fact that it still scored as high as most other robots within this category. It topped our top pick (the Roborock S4 Max), by 19 points. The 694 is a bit more expensive than the RoboVac 30, but it feels more robust and requires less maintenance and has lower recurring costs, operates much more quickly, moves over obstructions with less difficulty, and delivers superior performance on bare floors and high-pile carpet. It has a larger bin and is able to be used without internet connectivity.

5. Eufy 11s

The eufy11s is one of most affordable robot vacuums on the market. It's also a great option for those who want a reliable and simple machine. It's able to remove dust, pet hair, and other debris from hard and low-pile floors. It also has a decent job of moving around obstacles and furniture. Its slim design is perfect for reaching underneath low-clearance couches and coffee tables as well as other furniture, and it's also one of the quietest robot vacuums we've test-driven.

However, that's not all It's one of the most minimalist models we've seen, and it's missing certain features that are found on more expensive competitors. It doesn't have an app so you'll need to manually set the timer with the remote control. It also doesn't provide a battery-level or dust bin full alert, so you'll need to monitor its status and manually empty it when needed.

Despite its price it is very well-built and easy to maintain. It also has a long battery life, and has decent performance on bare floors as well as when navigating around obstacles. It was able to traverse low-lying obstacles such as electrical cords effortlessly in our tests. However, it had difficulties with high-pile carpets.

While the eufy 11s is better than the ONSON GOOVI, we recommend going with an option that is more expensive when you can afford it. The iRobot Roomba 694 is easier to maintain, has lower cost of maintenance, and has an extended battery life. It also performs better on unfinished floors as well as when maneuvering around furniture, and it has the largest dust bin.
